Cougars News · Impact Baseline Testing Information

All student athletes must complete the ImPACT Baseline Concussion Test one time for their 4 year career.  Incoming Freshman student athletes have not been tested yet so ALL will need to do this.  Any other student athlete without a baseline on file will receive an email as well.   If you have a test on file with QOHS you will not have to take a new test.

MCPS utilizes a software tool called ImPACT (Immediate Post Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing) in order to administer systemwide baseline concussion testing. All student-athletes are required to complete a baseline test one-time, prior to their initial participation in the MCPS athletics program. As a result of COVID-19 restrictions, for the 2021 fall season, all student-athletes needing to complete ImPACT testing, will do so utilizing the online ImPACT test. The deadline for completing the test and being cleared for participation in the fall in-person season is March 15, 2021. If you have additional questions, please reach out to Athletic Director Jeff Rabberman.

Next steps – student-athletes needing to complete ImPACT testing, will receive an access email on Friday via their @mcpsmd.net account to complete the ImPACT test by Monday, 3/15/21. Please reach out if you have any questions regarding the process for the at home test.

It is important to note that you may not compete without a baseline test on file with QOHS.  This is required to participate.
