The Cougars picked up a huge win over previous 15-2 Poolesville on Play For the F.A.C.T.O.R. osteosarcoma cancer awareness night, holding the Falcons to their lowest point total of the season.

QO held Poolesville to 13.8% shooting from the field, including just 1 for 21 (4.8%) from the three point arc. The Falcons also finished with just five assists.

The Cougars did not shoot the ball much better, but they hit big shots when needed down the stretch. Junior Maggie Regan and Senior Alexa Sanmartin hit big second half three’s to help stretch the lead any time the Falcons got close. Regan finished with eight points to lead the Cougars, Sanmartin had seven and senior Giulia Sanmartin added six. Senior Amanda Bishop led the team with seven rebounds and junior Yekta Kamali added two blocks.

QO took at 14-11 lead at halftime and then stretched the lead to six while holding Poolesville to just three points in the third quarter.
